There is now a rideboard for folks to arrange their own rides to and from Evansville and Southern Indiana. This ride will also be used to coordinate supplies coming to Indiana. You do not have to register or login to use this message board, but if you post something without registering, please remember to check back for replies or leave contact info so that folks can get a hold of you to make arrangements.
For folks who find phone contact easier, Madison is the contact for Evansville and a long-term resident at the convergence house. His number is (815) 274-0157.
The following link is a forum set up for specific affinity groups who are actively organizing towards resistance to I-69. Update: Free bus from Nashville to Evansville
We have just discovered there is a free bus between the Grand Old Opry/Casino Depot in Nashville and Casino Aztar in Evansville (which is right downtown). It costs five dollars, but if you take the morning bus, you get that back when you reach your destination, and they give you a $7.50 meal card. You have to have a reservation, but it’s a good idea because sometimes it’s full. You can make one on their website or by calling them. We called Casino Aztar and asked if you have to be a customer, and they said “no.”
Monday: Leaves Nashville 9:30 am; Leaves Evansville 8 pm
Thursday: Leaves Nashville 9:30 am; Leaves Evansville 8 pm
Friday: Leaves Nashville 9:30 am; Leaves Evansville 8 pm; Leaves Nashville 6:30 pm; Leaves Evansville 4:30 am
Saturday: Leaves Nashville 9:30 am; Leaves Evansville 8 pm; Leaves Nashville 6 pm; Leaves Evansville 4 am
Trip takes 3 hours, and so arrival time should be 3 hours after departure. There is no time difference between Nashville and Evansville. For housing in Evansville or near the I-69 route, email newi69housing@yahoo.com.
